VISION {Who we strive to be}
The Vision of Faith Community Church is to become a body, with each part doing its own special work, to help the other parts grow; so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love, and that we may be effective in preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to all the nations. MISSION STATEMENT {Purpose of FCC}
Our mission is to experience and increase awareness of the presence of God and His Kingdom on earth. Through our shared values and commitments—individual, relational, and communal—we desire to participate with Jesus Christ in an ongoing process of redemption and restoration. We believe His desire is to know and love us, and to be known and loved by us, and that we would love each other. Therefore, our commitment is to Him and His desires. FOUNDATIONAL SCRIPTURES
Matthew 6:10 “Your (God) Kingdom come Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Doctrine {We believe that ...}
• The Bible is the inerrant and inspired Word of God and the final authority for every belief and practice.
• There is one triune God who is revealed in the Bible as being our Creator and the Father of all those who believe and receive His Son, Jesus Christ.
• Jesus Christ is the Only Begotten Son of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit in the womb of a virgin, both divine and human, who was crucified to atone for the sins of the whole world, was buried, rose again the third day, and ascended to the right hand of God, where he intercedes for us.
• The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead who was poured out upon all mankind, to convict of sin, empower for service with supernatural gifts, help us to pray, and give us understanding and remembrance of God's Word. The nature of mankind is sinful–having fallen short of the God's glory. Yet through the redeeming blood of Jesus Christ man is able to live free from sin and shame.
• A person is not saved by works, but by faith in grace due to the works of Jesus Christ.
• The local church (or house church) is an expression of the body of Christ among whom Christ dwells in the Spirit.
• Baptism is the immersion in water by a disciple as their primary step of obedience, by identifying with the death and resurrection of Christ.
• The baptism in the Holy Spirit is a valid experience that results in the empowering of a disciple with spiritual gifts for anointed ministry.
• Jesus Christ is to return soon and that, at His appearing, all men will be resurrected—those in Christ for eternal glory, and the rest to eternal damnation. |
