There are several reasons why I have read one chapter each day since I was very young and why it's good to read together as a community:

- Doing spiritual disciplines together is encouraging and motivating
- It enables us to eventually read the whole Bible (2 Timothy 3:16 – “All scripture …”)
- It facilitates the opportunity to share and compare what we learned from that chapter
- The daily aspect enables us to establish an enjoyable and life-giving habit
- It takes away the guesswork of wondering what to read each day
- It spiritually connects us with others who are reading the same passage
